 And they have taken besides Him gods, who do not create anything while they are themselves created, and they control not for themselves any harm or profit, and they control not death nor life, nor raising (the dead) to life. |
| And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they should be to them a source of strength; / By no means! They shall soon deny their worshipping them, and they shall be adversaries to them. |
| And they make the jinn associates with Allah, while He created them, and they falsely attribute to Him sons and daughters without knowledge; glory be to Him, and highly exalted is He above what they ascribe (to Him). |
| And they persisted in the great violation. |

| And they prohibit (others) from it and go far away from it, and they only bring destruction upon their own souls while they do not perceive. |

| And they said: O magician! call on your Lord for our sake, as He has made the covenant with you; we shall surely be the followers of the right way. |
| And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? / So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. |
| And they said: Whatever sign you may bring to us to charm us with it-- we will not believe in you. |
| And they say: Allah has taken to himself a son. Glory be to Him; rather, whatever is in the heavens and the earth is His; all are obedient to Him. |
| And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. |
| And they say: Be Jews or Christians, you will be on the right course. Say: Nay! (we follow) the religion of Ibrahim, the Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists. |
| And they say: Glory be to our Lord! most surely the promise of our Lord was to be fulfilled. |
