I think for both of those guys, their talent can rub off on everyone. You can't ignore them. Now the quarterback still has a very, very difficult job. But throwing it on second-and-5 instead of second-and-10? That's a different world. And that's what a great running back can do for you. |
I think he really wants to be here. He really wants to be back with us. You never know, but I would certainly hope it happens for us. If we get Duane back, and you look at our defense, what we still have left, we're not starting at ground zero with that group. And that's the perception. |
I think if we would have had two terrible halves, that would have hurt us because then we wouldn't have known how to pick ourselves up. But I think the fact that we took it upon ourselves to change the game and not let it keep going downhill is a positive thing that we can take from it. |
I think in this country that the legal system is you're innocent until proven guilty, unless as an athlete. I'm not the least bit concerned about it and I think I know a lot about what happened. He had actually just come into the parking lot at the time. He was not a part of that party. |
I think it just shows you where we are as a team. We are a young, inexperienced team that is trying to learn to finish a game. You saw some of our maturity and inexperience come out when the game got tight and got frustrating. We almost gave this game away. Hopefully we learn from this. |
I think it'd be good for the fans, probably, if he came back. He was an important player on this team for a number of years. There shouldn't be a problem fitting in. There are a few guys he doesn't know, we've got a lot of new players, but he'd probably be pretty comfortable right away. |
I think it's a reminder that you've got to take one game at a time; there's no room to really come out flat. Just having home-court advantage is not going to win a game for you. Everybody's got to step up. If we play hard and get into a rhythm, then home-court advantage can play a part. |
I think it's in the back of everyone's head. But at the same time, I think it's great. There's nothing to save [ourselves] for. We've got one year before everything gets shaken up, and it's kind of fun. It's like a whole-year playoffs because you don't know what's going to happen after. |
I think it's only natural for people to wonder if Brett will be there. But he hasn't given us any indication and hasn't made a commitment to be there. I know it's been talked about around town, whether he'll be there or not. But he's not expected and we're not anticipating that he will. |
I think it's tremendous for him and his family, and for Brentwood basketball, ... These guys saw him play almost every AAU game this summer. They're committed to Josh being Josh. They don't want to change him. They think he can play the 3 (small forward) spot and contribute immediately. |
I think last year I disconnected with him. I think it's important that George and I talk on a regular basis. And I'm the one that really has to make the call because I'm the one that travels here, travels there. He pretty much stays in one place. I plan on doing that on a regular basis. |
I think our guys have a pretty good feel that there's still another game to play. I think that they understand that obviously we're elated to be co-champions ... but once again we've put ourselves in a big position to have the opportunity to win outright on our home court on senior day. |
I think people understand the difference between capital improvements and operating money. It's a concern that people might not vote for something because they just passed something else. I don't think it's a significant number of people that would not vote for the levy for that reason. |
I think Pop's still mad that we should have had 81 (victories) or something. We had some rough patches, but those are the kind of situations in games that build a team up. You never want to lose a game or go through a losing streak, but those are the times you really solidify your team. |
I think probably the biggest thing is the experience factor. That being said, a little bit of a detour this year with the new system. They had to go through a transition but he certainly seems to be playing comfortably now. He's very adept, a very talented quarterback, a mature leader. |
