I was most happy to see us play with great effort and great passion, ... Sure, absolutely (last year was on our minds). We're determined to prove some things this year. Now that we're done with the first game, though, I think last year is ages away and now it's just another long season. |
I was never a bookworm. I remember reading Dr. Seuss, the Hardy Boys, Emil and the Detectives, Chip Hilton, and lots of Mark Twain and Dickens. My athletic ability did nothing but invite taunts. I was an indifferent student and an athlete with delusions of adequacy, dreams of adulation. |
I was real happy with our first doubles (team). They started off slowly this morning and then did a nice job. I still don't think they are playing to their potential, but it's only been a short time that they've been playing together. I think that they're going to get better and better. |

I was uncomfortable with the timing, ... We were getting millions less from the federal government for Medicaid and having to search for funds to restore some of those cuts and I just did not think it was right to put a pay raise on the board that would cost tens of millions of dollars. |
I wasn't sure when to push it or what to expect. Now I know what to expect. Hopefully, I'll be able start mixing everything together and see how it goes. As of now, I'm planning on pitching opening day. If not, I'll pitch on the fifth day. I guarantee I'll have one spot in the rotation. |
I will not return to Baton Rouge for any reason, including any games scheduled for the end of this season or a contemplated next season. No person, much less the owner of NFL team, should have either he, his family or his friends subjected to this form of danger, intimidation and abuse. |
I'm actually not sure how I deal with the constant anxiety. On one hand, I'm very proud of him and what he's doing and I know he's there because he's doing something he feels he should be doing. On the other hand, it just breaks my heart to think of everything he's missing here at home. |
I'm always joking about it -- he's the only guy who can play 30 minutes without breaking a sweat. He's so smooth and effortless. What really surprised me is how good he is in the battles. He's so strong. It looks like he's never hurried. It's unbelievable. I had no clue how good he was. |
I'm always worried about them. I know they're coached well. Coach (Mike) Briggs is a good coach, and they have two former head coaches on that staff. They've got a couple of kids that the Shrine Bowl is looking at tailback and wide receiver, so you know they can put points on the board. |
I'm currently working on the evacuation plan. We're going to be setting up several communities within 50 or 100 miles that we can evacuate to. That way our residents will be in one place where we can provide for their needs instead of spread out all over where we can't provide for them. |

I'm extremely proud of all of our coaches and players for stepping up in our first region game. We had great support from our students, fans, and cheerleaders. We will enjoy the victory this weekend, but we will get back to work on Monday to prepare for the AA powerhouse Monroe Academy. |
I'm fortunate to have this role, especially since I am a freshman. It's a small role, but I am also one of the background dancers. This is a great opportunity for me. After playing Mr. Brill, I have aspirations for bigger roles. It's hard work but fun and everyone is sharing the laughs. |
I'm getting paid to play the game that I love, ... If anyone wants to criticize that, they can come say it to my face. I didn't get drafted because of what happened at Duke, and I wiped that off my chest and I moved on. People can say what they want to say, but I'm in the NBA right now. |
