I'm definitely glad we started at the upper weights because I wanted to wrap around [the lineup]. I honestly think we have the best lineup, [Class] AA or AAA [in the WPIAL] with our four [biggest] guys at the end. When we can match them up like that, we can hold other teams to [a few] points and also get some. |
I'm grateful for the win. We'll take it however we can get it. By and large I'm very proud of these kids. They got after it in a big way. Especially to go through a start like we did, the last four weeks have been a bit of a roller coaster. It's been extremely enjoyable at times and frustrating at other times. |
I'm humbled. This is indeed an honor to have an opportunity to be a part of the rich tradition and history that is associated with this program and this university. I'm excited, grateful, confident, all those things. I'm dedicated to putting together all the pieces to make this program exciting and successful. |

I'm just real happy for those kids. They worked hard to earn these opportunities. I think they are all very deserving and it's going to be a great opportunity for them. We want as many of them as possible that want to play at the next level get that chance. It's nice to see them get rewarded for their efforts. |
I'm left with the sense that this is a trading-range market, not a larger decline. The major averages are now coming down to their late August lows, which are presumably the low end of this trading range. There wasn't any real sign of a reversal yesterday, but support is nearby and downside leadership is poor. |
I'm looking forward to the opportunity to be playing for Jim Leyland. Just his track record alone makes him demand respect from the start. He's a proven leader, and he's won everywhere he went. He doesn't care if you are a rookie or a 15- or 20-year vet. You play the game hard, and you won't have any problems. |
I'm not sure of the count but that was one of the bad things for me, to see these little kids getting off and they were shivering and some didn't have jackets and some didn't have shoes and it was pouring rain out too. (They had) blank looks on their faces like they just woke up -- scared looks on their faces. |
I'm really happy with the way that the starting group came out. They didn't let down, and that's something we talked about before the game. We said no matter who you're playing, what you're doing, we want you to come out strong, and they did. They didn't let up. They pushed the ball. It was really nice to see. |
I'm so excited about this game for our seven seniors. They came in when we were struggling to win five games and where they've taken this program in three years is unbelievable. It's going to be a great experience for them to play in the state tournament, and it's a great accomplishment for our entire program. |
I'm striving to get better and be consistent, ... A lot of the time my technique was not as on key as we thought it should be. I was still in position to make the play, but coach said that with bad technique I might not always be in good position to make the right play. I need to get that technique down first. |
I'm very disappointed; the coaches have been on us. I am very disappointed because we're coming out too sluggish. We have to come out with some type of energy. We got to make some changes around. I'm not denying anything, including myself. I gotta give more to the team as far as coming and bringing the energy. |
I've experienced several dry years where no-till soybeans substantially out-yielded conventionally planted soybeans. One year in particular was 1991, when no-till soybeans averaged over 40 bushels per acre, and conventional soybeans were about 12 bushels per acre. The difference was in the saved soil moisture. |
I've had a long career in the NBA and have enjoyed my experience. I look forward to retirement life. It doesn't mean I am not going to stay busy, but it's time to move on and accomplish some of the other goals that I have set for myself. It's been a great time. I've learned a lot, but now it's time to move on. |
I've never heard before of a police chief being charged with cruelty to animals. It could have happened somewhere, but I've not heard of it. I think it's a victory in that the laws that have been enacted to protect animals are being enforced, regardless of whether that person is chief of police or average Joe. |
