I tried to make a film that was not a lot of empty (garbage). To me, the film is about the relationship between the boy and a black guy - he comes to see him for what he really is. That's the most rewarding part of the film. Most of the credit goes to Eamonn Walker, who is one of the greatest actors alive today. |
I use Beyer Figures as a tool, but I don't need them to build my confidence up. I think I've got a horse that does what he has to do to win and not a lot more. From what I've seen of the races this year, Cause to Believe is in the hunt. He has shown as much or more than a lot of horses that are being considered. |
I want to thank Frank McCourt for the opportunity to speak with him regarding his opening. I enjoyed speaking to him, ... However, I have indicated to Texas owner Tom Hicks my desire to remain with the Rangers. Therefore, I am withdrawing my name from consideration for the general manager's job with the Dodgers. |
I want to thank you all for your e-mails and the words of support and encouragement yesterday. There are a lot of exciting things going on in baseball right now. I would like to congratulate Team USA on their win over Mexico. I continue to be focused about this spring and the upcoming season. Later, Barry Bonds. |
I was fortunate to be around a couple of coaches who took me under their wing and taught me how to train, how to work and how to prepare myself for a game. They gave me so much, and I saw the passion they had for the game and for teaching it. What I learned from them led me to want to become a teacher and coach. |
I was frustrated because they were the better team for the first three quarters and I couldn't be a part of something to turn it around, ... We didn't attack them that much early so we probably lured them into [soft coverage]. When it became critical we attacked them when they gave us a look they shouldn't have. |
I was happy to be in the NFL, living the dream. I'd get to play in the preseason when Brett would play a series or two and I got to play a quarter and a half and my whole family would come to town for the game. They never wanted tickets for the playoff games or the regular-season games, just the preseason games. |
I was just hoping that Marc and the kid chasing him (Apprentice sophomore guard Warren Cherry of Norfolk, who suffered a cut to his finger) were OK. It wasn't like he hung on the rim or did anything illegal. He's a 280-pound man who's pretty agile and jumps pretty well, and he hit that thing with a lot of force. |
I was pretty concerned obviously. When you go in the corner and smell the smoke and see the smoke inside the car, you know you've got a fender rub. You just don't know how severe it is. The bad part about it was there was nothing we could do about it at that point. So we were just kind of stuck with what we had. |
I was shocked. But I don't think morale will suffer. The lads always stick together. I don't think there will be a problem with the manager and, even if there was, the players are striving for the same goal to bring the World Cup home. I don't think it will have a negative effect. It will have a positive one. |
I was very proud of them. It was heavy on their hearts and they moved fast. Peyton got the plane lined up. Their mother and I think that it did some good. I've heard so many comments from people in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. And after talking to the boys when I got back I could tell it did them some good, too. |
I was very surprised he was held to that amount of carries, but their offense wasn't allowed to get a lot of first downs so that limited what he could do. I don't think they executed as well as they're able to execute. Not having Cummings in the game really hurt. Cummings is just like Jordan in the passing game. |
I would like to believe it _ and that's the way it should be, but there's some politics involved, ... Come on, let's be realistic. If there wasn't, do you think Virginia would fare as well as they're doing this week? No, it's because (Virginia Sen.) John Warner is chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. |
I would love to work with Ron Howard. I think he is brilliant. I love the stories that he chooses. They're always very personal and intense. He loves a lot of emotion, and he's so well equipped to pull all of that out of the actors. I really love that kind of thing and I think that's what movies should be about. |
I'd say the biggest difference is that the training under Stuart is more intense, ... If you do fast, high-tempo training every day then it will be reflected on match day. Under Kevin [Keegan], the training was more relaxed, not so intense, and that showed sometimes. Since Stuart has taken over we have moved on. |
