It was all right, not as fluid [as last week's debut]. I felt good on the mound, but I was all over the place. My changeup was good, but I have to make adjustments mechanically. Last time, my rhythm was better. Physically, I felt the same. I'll play catch tomorrow and see what it feels like when I'm not as sharp. |
It was disappointing to have that happen, because I think that was maybe the writing on the wall that says this is my last year in San Diego, ... This is the last year on my contract, and they're going to pay this guy $15 million or whatever it is that the fourth pick in the draft gets, so I know what that means. |
It was disheartening to play well enough to put us in the position to win, but we just couldn't make the free throws. I don't know if it was the fact that it was the NCAA tournament and we weren't used to the atmosphere, but I'm hoping that's where our experience will pay off if we're in that situation this year. |
It was embarrassing. We were getting beat pretty good. I had been struggling. I guess I had been moping a little. I just decided I wasn't going to do it anymore. . . . At this time of year, it's about being in attack mode. Win or lose, make or miss, you have to be on the attack. We have to be like that in Game 3. |
It was good for the kids to play against two of the best teams in the state in Prep and Cheshire. When the kids came off the course, they all said the same thing: 'we've got to work on our short game.' Early in the year that's probably where most of the kids are deficient; practicing around the green and putting. |
It was really beautiful for Carlos and I think it was also important for his own moral that he got to see himself in a situation where he was just as strong and perhaps even stronger than the other favorites. If there hadn't been that flat bit half way up the climb, I actually think he could have taken the stage. |
It would be more than I deserve at this point in my career, ... It was one of our goals heading into the season, but honestly at this point I don't expect it. It would be great, don't get me wrong, but if it doesn't happen I'm not going to get upset. There are a million reasons we shouldn't make it, looking back. |
It?s exactly what you think it is: location, ... Things are changing, though, and we realize that. Look, the Yankees are the most marketable team in perhaps the world. They?re going to sell. Anything associated with the rivalry, it will sell. But this rivalry is more than a regional thing. It?s a national market. |
Aaron Hill (1685-) |
It's a day-to-day thing with him. He never really knows until he gets out there and gets going. Once he makes a move where he has to pivot in the post or change direction on the court, you can see if he's got to gather himself too much or isn't fluid. If he looks stiff-legged, that's usually what I'm looking for. |
It's a fish we figure is not going to be around here in 10 years as far as natural reproduction. This is a success from the propagation standpoint. We're still able to get fish back into the river, but we still have to change what the problem is. We're still working on the most important aspect, which is habitat. |
It's a good thing that we can come together. Communication is about building bridges, not walls. A lot of times we suppose things. All that does is make it more complicated. I feel very good about my promoter, and I hope they feel the same about me. Everything is running smooth, and it does give me peace of mind. |
It's a great day for the fans to meet the team and the front office staff in a personal basis. It's a good step to build a strong bond and relationship with our fans. Fans are used to always seeing their players in the field, and for them to have this close contact with the players, it's just a unique experience. |
It's always going to be command. Again, having the extra velocity gives you a little bit more room for error. Having the ability to reach back for a little bit more at certain times of the game, I think, is more important than having a consistent 95 [mph fastball]. He's shown that time and time again this spring. |
It's awesome when you hear people compare you to Barry. He's the best player in the game right now. It'd be tough to put (up) those numbers. I don't try to compare myself with anybody. I don't get caught up. You're going to start taking things for granted. I just want to be myself and do the best player I can be. |
