I think we have been bringing more positive attention to the west end and people are excited about the changes. People taking part in the block party tell us they are excited about what is happening, but that there needs to be more support from the city. This is the original side of our city and we have a great responsibility to the people that came before us. |
I think we've surprised some teams with our patience this year, ... In the past, we've been a throw the ball down the field offense because that's what defenses have allowed us to do. ...That's the nice thing about this offense and (coordinator) Tom (Moore) and his play calling. We usually call what's working. Games are shorter now. We're having longer drives. |
I think what you have to do is turn it up in preparation. You have to do the little things, like watch more film, and fine-tune everything, because there's no tomorrow. You win, you're in, and if you don't, you're getting ready for vacation. That's something that you don't want to be preparing for right now. We're focused on the Falcons and we're working hard. |
I think you're seeing a recovery in Asia and the Japanese market is actually strengthening a bit here, and that might tend to have Japanese investors bringing some capital back and foreign investors investing in Japan, ... So I don't see it reversing. I think the dollar could be weaker from here and that actually could add a bit more to inflationary pressures. |
I think, from all that I've seen and from that all that I've heard, he's going to do fine. You never know. He could trudge out to left field at any point and his career could be over. He certainly seems to be able to still hit a baseball. He says he's not in pain. He hasn't done the really tough stuff yet. I'm sure that will happen within the next three weeks. |
I thought he played pretty well; he did a lot of things we asked him to do. No. 1, he had a lot of poise and composure out there, and good presence in the pocket. Without seeing the film, it looked like he was making all the right decisions on where to go with the football. For his first contest in a while, I thought he did pretty well … he was pretty sharp. |
I thought it was a fumble, but that's just my personal opinion. The call from the referee was his knee was down. So I guess that was the right call. They got instant replay and looked at it a few times, so evidently they saw something that I didn't see or they knew a rule that I don't know. I thought it was a fumble, but again, that's just my personal opinion. |

I thought they (the traveling violations) were legitimate calls. It's extremely disappointing not to be able to get a shot at the end. That is the last thing we wanted to happen. The last two traveling violations hurt because we work on that stuff everyday in practice, and our players practice footwork coming off screens and getting the ball in that situation. |
I thought we came out better than we have the last five or six games. It just seems like in the last two or three minutes of each quarter, they hurt us. The Spurs are a championship team and they can really buckle down on you defensively during those stretches. The one thing I want more than anything right now is to compete and I felt like we did that tonight. |
I told all the guys (that if) I saw him limp once, I'm pulling him out of there. I don't need to lose him for this race. And he was good enough to finish. But that's what our depth does. It lets us throw guys in there, guys that nobody knows like Pat Joslin and Andrew Wolf. Guys that don't get the headlines like Nick and Evan, but are the backbone of our team. |
I told those guys we won for two reasons. Character No. 1. We really showed character. We overcame adversity. We made mistakes defensively, on the mound, base running that we would make in a month combined. But because this team's got character, we continued to battle back. And the second reason was our offense. They kept us in the game, they kept coming back. |
I was a guy who grew up with no money and no special qualities. When you become successful in this business and you've got a lot of money, it's a very potent blend. You meet beautiful women, you've got a lot of time on your hands, people pay attention to you a lot more than you deserve - I acted out on that as much as most young guys do who come to that place. |
I was floored by how bad it was. I don't think it's realistic to expect that this is going to work itself out by the second quarter. This is not an opportunity to buy on a weakness. This is a time to stay on the sidelines. Too many things have to go right. Intel has to reinvent itself very quickly, and you tend not to bet that a supertanker can turn on a dime. |
I was freaked out. I get nervous, believe me. I kept asking the guys if we got bumped. It was like in '99 at Memphis when we didn't make a good pass in round one and then it started raining and raining. Joe Amato would have passed us in the points if we didn't qualify but NHRA gave us all one more chance Sunday morning and we got in. I got no sleep that night. |
