I know he doesn't want to be just a two-year quality player. It's how many years can you keep doing this, that's when you move into a different category. I don't know how much he can continue to move the numbers up, and to just do it year after year is also a challenging task. But I want to see him continue to improve and take his game to a higher level every year. |
I look at our record and eight losses is more than I'd like to see, but I also look at it like, I haven't lost any confidence in this team. I'm disappointed maybe in the consistency of a couple guys, but I haven't lost confidence in what I think we can still do. ... There's nobody I'm afraid to play, and I just want to start playing better, consistently, ourselves. |
I met with Jay Gruden this morning and talked a lot about individual responsibility. We talked about being a part of a team, which he understood well. It's not the behavior you really expect in a coach, whether you're part time or full time. Unfortunately, as I said just a few days ago, I'm not going to discuss publicly what we'll do as a club as far as discipline. |
I suppose from my point of view, (they are) two people that were thrown in together in a friendship in spite of themselves, in one sense flip sides of the same coin, ... Their weaknesses are sort of complemented by the strengths of the other one, and vice versa. They don't accept this, they don't recognize it, but it's just the subtext of their relationship itself. |

I think (Bittner) is a born leader and would do anything for the team. Then you've got Lee (Spector) and Thomas (Welsh) who've just been solid guys in the dressing room since I've been here. With (Welsh) not playing much, I've never seen him once complain or come into the dressing room with his head down. That takes a lot ... and I give him so much credit for that. |
I think it really helped to open their eyes and minds to the profession. It definitely made everything more realistic to them, whether they are going on college auditions or other auditions. They could relate more to a professional than a teacher. Colin didn't have an air about him. He was down to earth and made the kids feel comfortable. It really was a great day. |
I think most parents are satisfied with the neighborhood schools. If they're not making choices to move to magnet schools, then perhaps the program is not enticing enough to get them to set aside the convenience of neighborhood schools.... For example, bus rides (to magnet schools) are over 45 minutes each way. It is a great impediment to people making that choice. |
I think right now everybody has already showered it off. We'll be playing cards on the plane and getting ready for the Orioles series. One thing is we have short-term memories -- that's the Sox. That's what you have to have in this game. We've had our backs against the wall, we've had adversity, we've had positives. But we're going to battle all the way to the end. |
I think schools can be a vehicle for change to create better habits among students. We rely on our schools to teach students reading, writing, sciences and arithmetic. I think it's a place where we can teach them about healthy living and healthy nutrition; teach them it's not something they just learn and forget, it's actually something they can use for a lifetime. |
I think stock selection is going to be key. It's just like last year, where if you picked a stock at random, you probably lost money even though the averages were up. And stock selection's going to be key again. You have to pick stocks that are going to have earnings that exceed the consensus. It sounds very simple but it's not the easiest thing in the world to do, |

I think that Christians should not bash this movie without seeing it. A lot of Christians in America think that homosexuality and abortion are the only sins that God cares about, and since this movie is about homosexuality it's automatically from the depths of Hell. Christians didn't put up this much fuss about a movie like Ocean's 11 that makes stealing look cool. |
I think that if the Fed goes back to normal language about 'measured pace' (of rate hikes), it becomes a secondary story, ... It is only becoming a big story because of the uncertainty about what they were going to do. The equity markets will be looking for language here again. If it talks too harshly about inflationary pressures, it could be unfriendly for stocks. |
I think the biggest factor in that game was that we had three errors that led directly to runs being scored. They were on routine plays and errors on routine plays happen, and it's just unfortunate and it was a situation where we needed to keep the score at three. If you put extra runners on, the possibility is there it is going to bite you and it bit hard tonight. |
