We are very frustrated and concerned over where we are in this process. The union is engaged in a charade. It is clear to us that union leadership has no interest in negotiating or making a deal to save the start of the season. Union leadership is stalling, doing everything in its power to ensure this collective bargaining negotiation is not resolved in a timely manner. |
We believe that the ultimate benefit for consumers is a standard for instant messaging/interoperability among all IM products. MSN continues to work with the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) and the rest of the industry to make that happen so that consumers can communicate openly and freely with friends and family no matter what instant messaging service they use. |
We can't take anything for granted. We've got to play for 40 minutes. That's the hidden secret for us. We played Towson for 40 minutes and we saw the outcome [a 76-61 win Jan. 28]. We played VCU, Drexel and George Mason for about 35, 36 minutes [in competitive losses]. You play for 40 minutes, that's how you change the outcome of the game. And that's what we need to do. |
We carry stuff from around the world, but the leaders in the industry are the German games. In Germany, their view of board games in general is that it's something you do with the family. When you come home in the evening, instead of watching television, you pull out a board game and play it. There, you see entire families playing board games three or four times a week. |
We continue to be very pleased with our loan growth numbers and the ongoing demand among borrowers for our loan products in all of the markets we serve in Nevada and Arizona. Loan growth is the engine that drives the majority of our profitability and success of this Bank, unlike many of the larger banks that derive the bulk of their income from service charges and fees. |
We decided to release this information on the Web, because we wanted to ensure that it would be available to all interested parties, rather than limiting the audience to those able to attend a traditional Industry Day. There is a great deal of interest in these contracts, and the Web provides a venue that makes the information available to all, at their own convenience. |
We didn't get serious about security early enough. The Internet carefully delivers that virus to your door because its job is to deliver packets and not to inquire whether the application is good for you. The 'Net by itself is doing what it should do, but we don't have intrinsic integrity and authentication. We didn't do that way back when, and it should have been done. |
We feel good about what [Johnson] is doing now, that he didn't do in the spring. He's been accurate, but like we told him, 'We're giving you this because you earned it, but you still have to come to work every day. You've got some guys right there on your heels and they're going to work even harder.' We're excited about his progress, but I still think we can get better. |
We go to hell to show everyone's pain. We all suffer severely at one time or another. But when you look at the whole world, there are so many people who are suffering much more than we are. It gives a great relativity to one's misfortune. You complain that 'I don't have everything I want,' and then you realize that maybe 20 percent of the world has clean drinking water. |
We got a good look at the Himalayas, which they tell me are about 28,000 feet high. I expected to be very impressed, but really, they didn't look any more picturesque to me than the Berkshires or the Green Mountains. Certainly not as pleasant-looking as the wooded mountains we have in New England. I'll leave those cold and barren slopes in Asia to the mountain climbers. |
We got a great response (after the first episode) from firemen and their wives, but since then, certain firemen feel their sense of honour has been meddled with, ... But it's TV -- we choose highly dramatic situations. You know, because Ally McBeal wore short skirts they weren't saying all female lawyers wear short skirts. So there are some mixed feelings among firemen. |
We had a miserable first year (6-10 in 2004), and that's real hard on you. So you go in the second year knowing you've got to make something happen. Being able to get 10 wins, that helps a lot. It gives the whole organization confidence. If we hadn't gotten into the playoffs, it would've been a real downer. Getting in the playoffs was somewhat of a turning point for us. |
We have lots of things to help people avoid, to distract them from their pain. That's the enemy - the worst thing in the world is to have people get into behaviors that are destructive to themselves or others. ... because they feel they can't handle sadness or anger. If people were more adept at experiencing their emotions, they might do less acting out because of them. |
We have received no reports similar in content or scope of Mr. Lund, or anything to indicate that Northwest is not flying in a safe and airworthy manner. Certainly I can't confirm what the union may or may not have received, other than it would probably be more helpful, and in everybody interest, that if they are receiving such reports that they would submit them to us. |
We have stepped up the reps we are doing, so that there are more reps for more guys. Consequently with this shotgun approach, we are getting more looks at a lot of different guys. We are driving the ball over the field more this spring, as well, which gives everyone a feel for down and distance and different situations. We are real pleased with what we have been seeing. |
