I feel that text messaging defeats the purpose of the rule. Coaches aren't supposed to be talking to recruits on the phone, but they're still communicating with text-messaging. The spirit of the rule is so kids are not constantly talking on the phone, but now they're constantly text-messaging, and it's time consuming. They are constantly doing this stuff instead of whatever they have to do or want to do. |
I feel very good about our production rate increase plan. It reflects all our lesson learned from the past. We have a very disciplined commitment and compliance process. ... We decided three times not to increase production rates faster. That's why we are not making up those 30 planes until we are absolutely on our way to making these rates changes, and then we will look later about going up even higher. |
I have decided that this will be my last season. I just think it is time. I have been blessed to spend the past 12 seasons here in Seattle, playing with the Mariners and great, great teammates. The fans here have always been terrific to me, and to my family. I'm proud to be a part of the city and Annie and I look forward to remaining in Seattle as we raise our children and remain active in the community. |

I met Vijay in 1991 in Santa Ponsa, Majorca, OK? I saw this Indian guy down the fairway. He always used to wear these white pants and this whiter-than-white glove and this red shirt. Snazzy dresser. Friendly guy. Always hanging around with the South Africans, around Blandy [John Bland], Tony Johnstone, Justin Hobday, you know. Just trying to survive, to make a check. Vijay blended right in with our guys. |

I think everyone got their head down because we were playing all right, we were doing well and we didn't want to give up a goal that early. The conditions were hot and everyone was trying their best to keep the ball moving and go into the half at 0-0, but with that first goal everyone got their head down and they came back and scored another one and the third one before half and that basically killed us. |
I think it is important, particularly when you're dealing with a country like Belarus where the population does not have access to very much independent information, that we make sure that our messages are as clear and unmistakable as possible, and that when we say that action is being taken because of elections that were less than free and fair, that that is what the population understands has happened. |
I think right now within the veterans community, certainly with the Congress, there is generally widespread feeling that they have failed their task and it is time to say, thank you, we have got to go elsewhere, to go to those researchers and those agencies who are prepared to take a hard look at the role that chemicals and other environmental factors may have played in the causation of Gulf War illness. |
I think the greatest compliment I get is when people say, 'Thank you' to us after a show, ... The music brings people back to an easier time, when there was no stress, no worries about bills and mortgages or cholesterol. The biggest worry back then was whether you had a date on Saturday night. We're so happy to be able to make people so happy. The songs are simple songs, ones that everyone can relate to. |
I think these kids got it now. I think they have really gotten the concept on defense; the offense has been good, but not consistent all year long, and I think they got it this week. It's what happens with kids, and it's what happens with good teams that practice hard. Sooner or later, they absorb what you're trying to teach them, and instead of doing what you tell them, they do what they know how to do. |
I think we all understand that a running game allows you to control the game. When we were able to run the football, that allows you to protect your defense and it allows you to do a lot of things that help you to win. We were very, very average running the football. And I think that always comes back to haunt you. I can guarantee you this spring that becomes an area that we must improve in, and we will. |
I think we do believe in the offense now. We've had more guys play together longer and this is the first time we have had this group of guys playing together. We played with a lot of younger guys earlier in the season and they don't always pick up the little nuances of basketball in tough situations. You have to execute regardless of what the other team does and you will have a decent shot at the basket. |

I thought we had very good intensity in the first half, but I don't think our intensity was nearly as much as it was in the second half. It came down to who wanted it more and to be honest it was [the Patriots]. The one thing we have to do is forget about this one and move on with the rest of the season. I think we're going to be all right if we take care of our own business and stay away from bad plays. |
