We understand that this is long overdue. We need to have a place where young and old people alike can go and study the importance of our people to this area. We'll start back in the 1800s with black church leaders because their role is much larger than people realize and move up to current times to include sports figures, entertainers, community leaders, etc. We see this as a focal point of the area's black population. |
We wanted to incorporate the grow-in-four-days game plan, but it didn't work. We are going to go back to our old faithful. I told our kids at the beginning of the year that once you are short, it doesn't matter how much shorter you are, to a certain degree. We are shorter every time. (The Hawks) aren't quite as big as some of the other teams we have faced. But they are substantially bigger than us, and we realize that. |
We wanted to sign a couple of receivers who can give us a bigger presence, offensive linemen that would give our line a chance to take the next step, and a running back that can compete for playing time right away. Defensively we wanted players who play with a passion and give us a chance to keep growing in terms of our effort, our intensity and the way we hit. The players we signed certainly fit into these categories. |
We were blown away by the size, age and diversity of the deep-water corals we saw during our 2002 Davidson cruise. Indeed, the discoveries we made during that cruise prompted members of the public to propose that Davidson Seamount be protected as part of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. We wanted to go back to learn why so many extraordinary corals thrive there and to determine their age and growth patterns. |
We were in every match today. We were pretty steady for the day. Our serving let us down in one game in the Evansville Reitz match. Overall, I would like to commend Kaelin Tuell. She played the back row for us and did a good job. Kara Dieterlen helped us with a couple of service runs and she's starting to show elements of leadership, which we've been looking for. I thought Kelsie McKee did a pretty good job at the net. |
We were throwing a lot of curveballs and cutters. When you have a left-handed-dominated lineup and I throw backdoor cutters, that's a pitch that for the most part, if they don't hit it for a base hit, it's probably going to be a flyball out. ... I work so hard on the inside part of the plate with my cutter that when I do throw it on the backside, they have a tendency to hit that ball in the air, and not with authority. |
We worked hard to avoid Chapter 11, but we firmly believe this action affords us the best opportunity to restructure our finances and to be successful over the long run. We have valuable assets, including our dedicated employees who continue to focus on operating a safe, reliable airline. We plan to emerge from this Chapter 11 case as a lean and competitive regional carrier flying for Northwest or other major airlines. |
We worked very closely with major foundries in Taiwan and the U.S. to identify their most important, next-generation modeling requirements. These customers told us that process characterization is on the critical path to their success. Today's announcement emphasizes our significant and ongoing investment in device modeling. And what's really exciting is that these customers are responding by standardizing on our flow. |

We've been very cautious with him, but still we're trying to get him work. I think he's lost an edge. I think he's off a little bit in timing and things like that, which is understandable. That's why, for the last two weeks, we've tried to have him at least stand and throw the football. But that's only going to be corrected by playing, anyway. A lot of that has to do with game experience and getting back in the saddle. |
We've really been in a slump offensively. We haven't been bad running stuff, we just haven't been putting the ball in the basket. I think it's just a huge amount of confidence. We basically just told these kids they have to go out and play. The first quarter concerned me. I mean four points, I was worried what was going to happen and then we go out and put up 60-something over three quarters so I was pleased with that. |
We've really had a good second half of the season. Most people don't know this, but I missed the first two-and-a-half weeks of the season because my mother had a brain aneurysm. We used Christmas break as my preseason. We worked hard putting things in. That's when they really started to learn my system. Things started clicking. We started competing and then lately we've learned how to win. Hopefully that will continue. |
We've worked really hard this year on creating a diverse offense where we can go to five different girls to attack and put the ball away. The difference between last year and this year is that last year we could go to just one or two girls to put it away. Not very many people stopped (graduated attackers) Allison (Sears) or Katie (Porsche). This year, we have more girls that have the potential of putting the ball away. |
What happened was there were eight Lasts; the first five came out of another port, and they went out into the Channel and waited. Now around dusk, with [the remaining three Lasts], when it came time for us to go out and rendezvous with them, we ended up with one escort ship. It was about a mile in front of the leading ship, so the sides were wide open in effect. My ship, the 507, is the last ship in line, which is bad. |
When companies put pink ribbons on their products, they're no longer just selling a sweater or a watch - they're selling the expectation that buying their product is going to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer, ... Pink Ribbon marketing efforts make a significant difference in corporate bottom lines. But the 'portion of the proceeds' that goes to breast cancer is all too often miniscule in comparison. |
