 The guy had an off week. It's his poorest finish in a major in about seven years and he still made the cut. He finished way down the field but that's how this game goes. So much is expected of the top players now that it's almost unfair pressure.  We worked hard the last couple years to try and help him recover from a gruesome ankle injury, develop consistency and mature on the field and off the field, and he's made tremendous progress. We're really proud of how far he came to have the year he had last year and we're hopeful he can build upon that and continue to grow into a better major league player. He'll be a big part of what we do going forward.

 I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

 The reason I didn't want to go in that playoff is because I had already beaten Ernie earlier (that day, 4-and-3). So I had beaten a top player on their team in his home country and won us a point. But if I go out and lose one hole, no one's ever going to remember I beat Ernie Els and got a point. I just lost us the entire Presidents Cup. So that was a little nerve-wracking out there.  This has been a good day. It's a nice day for the players and the supporters. A crazy result but Wednesday is now our next very important game. Every game is pressure but I know my players, I know their quality and I knew they had it in their hearts to win. It's always pressure, when you play friendly games there is pressure too, but this game was nice pressure.

 He's done it for years so good and so effortlessly. To me, he's the best player in the game. Having him on the field makes us that much better, and if it is his last year, to say you've played with the best player in the game is special.

 It was a big game for us. For him to be a dominating player like that, against a good team, that says a lot about how far he has come as a player in this league. He's not watching anymore.  Being a rookie, I'm sure he's never been in this situation. We're going to put our players on the field when they have been cleared and there is the least risk of injury. This past week we were playing for the division crown, and we had some players who were close to being able to go, and we probably could have played a few of them. But we'll always err on the side of caution. Cedric is a valuable part of what we're going to do around here for many years, and we'll never put him at risk.

 That's up to Theo and Tito. It's hard for me to say after only seeing him in one outing. Obviously he has ability and there's a reason why he's here. There's a reason why he had the kind of success in college. There's a reason we made the level of commitment that we made to him. He's going to be a good major-league pitcher. When that happens, I honestly don't know.

 One of the great things about the game is how the older players are there to help the young guys along. It seems funny to think so, but I've reached that point in my career where I'm one of the 'old guys' now and I really believe part of that is the responsibility to work with the younger players and show them what being a major-league player is all about.

 It's a matter of being more comfortable here with these guys. I'm just not putting as much pressure on myself as I did earlier in my career. A major part of my success is being surrounded by a lot of good players.

 His whole game has progressed. It probably would be unfair to Emmanuel to say that it's one thing or the other, but he's a more confident, more active and certainly more productive player. Amongst the players who are having a very good camp, Emmanuel is very much one of them.

 What is both surprising and delightful is that spectators are allowed, and even expected, to join in the vocal part of the game.... There is no reason why the field should not try to put the batsman off his stroke at the critical moment by neatly timed disparagements of his wife's fidelity and his mother's respectability.

 Week in and week out, everybody was looking forward to it, and hopefully getting a win this week by being myself, that'll take the pressure off. We don't want people to think the skit has been the reason we're successful. I didn't dress up before the Dallas game, and we played spectacular.
