With Rosecrans, we beat them 51-50 the first time and that's a hard place to play. That'll be a key game, too, in our league.

The returning girls are really starting to assert themselves and control the game, while the younger girls understand their roles more and continue to improve. This team is improving game by game and is ready for league play to begin.

It's a district game and it's a rival game. They'll be motivated and I expect them to be ready to play. That's another reason to be focused.

They already beat us. We're motivated to play every game but we've got to be extra-focused for this game because they beat us at their place. It was an embarrassing loss, so we'll be ready for this game.

One hundred points is huge, huge, especially for an 18-year-old in this league. That's pretty unbelievable. It's definitely something I want to help him achieve. We knew we should have won the first game. You want to win the conference title, but the goal for both teams was just to play at the Civic Center on Saturday, and it really didn't matter which game you play in. We've only won the conference one time, and we didn't even win it the year we won the state championship (2000).

There will be some teams tougher than others. But we just need a win. You have to play each game like it is the championship game. If you drop just one game, there is a chance you won't be able to win the league title.

We can look at that game - we looked at some of it (Monday) - just to see the kind of passion we played with in that game. Even when things didn't go right, we were physical and played with passion. That's how you have to play in this league. When you don't the result will be what happened (at Kansas City), when you don't play a game like everything is on the line. I think this team knows the type of attitude we have to play with.

It just came down to the last second of the game and they made the big play. I told our girls after the game that I didn't think we lost, that time had just run out on us.

We'll probably play a little more than the normal fourth preseason game that seems to be a standard around the league, ... We're going to play more because we need to be in a rhythm on both sides of the ball, special teams, all together before we come out of this game. Hopefully, that's early, and we'll just wait and see.
