 If we do not get there, this squad is good enough to make an impact in the European Championship qualifiers,

 I'm really, really looking forward to the opening round. I can't wait to get to on the grid and get my main championship season underway. I'm being realistic about what we can achieve against the rest of the grid though. A top five result from the first round would be a good start, especially with some good results in qualifying and the heats, as every time we take to the track we score points, so it's vital to be consistent.

 Our beginning in this group was disastrous but, although we gave ourselves a glimmer of hope, unfortunately it's not happened. The main aim for us [when Smith was appointed] was to restore pride and look forward to the European Championship qualifiers. That was the long-term plan and I think we're still on track.

 I was impressed with her results so a group of us went to see her facility. They are now helping us achieve good results in our plants.

 I needed this more mentally than anything. When you start struggling, you doubt yourself a little bit, and that's not a good thing. ... To have these results in back-to-back games, it is a confidence boost.

 I feel the club is only at the start of something good. I'm positive that we can go on and achieve good things. There is nowhere else I would rather be than Leeds United. I can look to the future now and we can make plans - but my immediate focus is on getting Leeds out of the Championship and back to where we belong.

 We did not see a lot with Legacy (11 qualifiers) at the Top of the Rockies because they didn't have a full squad. But we know they are tough. Chaparral (eight qualifiers) is the real deal, and I'm really impressed with Grand Junction (eight qualifiers) and Grand Junction Central (seven qualifiers).

 When I'm out there people say I'm not a scorer. I still have it in me. But we have a whole group of people that can score. I've got to do the things that sort of make us a championship team, diving for loose balls, using my size under the basket. That's what I have to do.

 The worst thing that can happen is for us to be out of the tie by the end of the first game. We need to get the result we are out to achieve and so we need to start by giving nothing away and then working our way into the game and getting forward. We want to keep as good a shape as we can at all times so we have to be talking and passing people on. We don't want players running all over the place, we want to stay with men. If we do that we'll be all right.

 It's frustrating not to achieve the result we want at the end of a season where we have finished on the podium 18 times and claimed 10 victories.

 I believed in our group this past season, as well. While we did not achieve what we needed to, this group worked to deal with various obstacles, and I am proud of their efforts - especially their work in recent weeks (finished on 9-1-2 run) when they overcame significant odds to almost attain a playoff berth after we dug a huge hole for ourselves.

 The negative share price reaction to these results may reflect certain disappointment... regarding figures which only met, but didn't far exceed, consensus expectations (as the group has been able to achieve in each of the previous two quarterly results announcements) and perhaps a partial evaporation of vague, but continuous, bid speculation.
