 investors may be saying 'it doesn't get much better than this, so let me take some money off the table and wait until some of the uncertainty flushes out.' After that, the stocks are back off to the races again.

 This is a market with a lot of volatility. There doesn't seem to be a lot of faith in the next two, three, four months. There's tremendous amount of uncertainty out there. So we're seeing a lot of stocks just reacting to sort of pre-opening news. Stocks are bid up in the before-hours trade on very low volume. Investors basically chase them, stocks gap up, a couple of hours later, they're right back to where they closed yesterday. So that's been a very difficult situation to deal with. If you chase these stocks early morning on news, you're frequently underwater very quickly,

 These stocks are for speculators more than investors. The average individual should be very careful that the money they are putting into these stocks is money they can afford to lose. This should be play money.

 It's basically a defensive strategy. Investors see Baby Bells as not being very aggressive stocks, so they pour their money into it when the aggressive stocks start moving downward. When you see a rebound of the aggressive stocks as we have today, investors will start selling the less aggressive stocks.

 But the orders could come back if the war uncertainty is removed and people feel more confident about putting their money on the table.

 We are seeing investors get out of oil and mining stocks and recycle back into the banks and financials. They are moving away from value stocks back into growth stocks.

 Investors have to be patient. You still have to ride the winners at this point, which are usually found in technology. I think you need to be a little bit more defensive in where you are in tech and biotech. But you have to wait until you get that correction and prices stay down. Until then, the money is hot right now and the hot money is going back to many of the same names.

 Local fund investors bid up steel stocks, as they had a lot of idle money after unloading technology stocks.

 Right now it seems to be the tech stocks that are doing well.... Their share prices aren't overpriced now. It's not really a novel theme, but investors seem to be putting money into stocks that have taken a bit of a breather.

 The key question is whether investors take profits in both stocks after the recent rally on the thought that the stocks are dead money during the review period.

 Stocks usually lead us out of a recession, but not this time. That throws in a whole new level of uncertainty about how businesses are going to behave. We don't know if there will be enough business confidence without stocks coming back.

 It's just 30 stocks, ... It is generally positive, but overall it doesn't change the position of institutional investors or individual investors for that matter.

 I don't view the market as risky or dangerous even in spite of more Fed tightening. We have enough value in U.S. and international growth stocks. What's holding stocks back right now is uncertainty about interest rates, not valuation.

 I think we need to have more storms in the Northeast ? it just makes for a better market. Investors just really, really want to own tech stocks. Ultimately we'll make money on those stocks again but short-term we really have pretty poor fundamentals.

 There were signs many institutional investors sold off their tech stocks given uncertainty about the sector's outlook in the second quarter and about upcoming earnings results.
