I thought our defense sprichwort

 I thought our defense overall wasn't where it needed to be. We needed a good start tonight and we just didn't get that. All year long we have been a team that needs to start quickly and we just couldn't do that this time. Some of that is our fault and some of that is Mt. Pleasant doing a good job against us.

 The team has been working so good on the road courses this year. The whole weekend really clicked for us. I thought it was a really good race. We made the passes when we needed to -- and we had the power and the handling to do it. We had a really good car and the whole team did a great job. I was confident we could hold them off before the yellow, but wasn't sure about the re-start. We got a great start, though, and ran some really strong laps at the end.

 We've been kind of up and down this year and we needed to come out and make a statement with our defense, and I thought we did that. (We) just didn't give them anything easy. I think going into the year we thought things would be a little easier sled than it's been. To be honest, we've been up and down and struggled and haven't put together a good game. I thought today we put together four good defensive quarters. This was a start for us.

 We needed to start playing better as a team and play better defense. We also needed to start communicating better. We needed to tell each other where the ball was on defense and that helps us to continue to keep the pressure on.

 I thought he looked good. He didn't get a lot of ice time. ... I thought, for tonight, it was a good start as long as he's not hurt. I thought he made some good plays. He had some opportunities, and I think he'll just get better and better.

 This was as good as we've competed in awhile. It was a good bounce-back game from Wednesday. It was a good effort. It was a matter of playing better hockey. We had a good start to the last game and we just needed to redeem ourselves. … We have to be a hard-working team and extremely diligent in our efforts. I thought we did a lot of the little things tonight pretty well.

 We just felt like for the team, we needed this change, ... We're going to let Casey start, and see how he does, and he's done some good things throughout the year. This wasn't an overnight decision.

 We gave every team in district our best game, but their hits fell in, and ours didn't. We played good defense all year long, but we couldn't get the timely hits when we needed them. The girls learned the hard way, and it's just one of those things.

 We were aggressive and made them work for the most part. There were a number of plays where we didn't finish after playing good defense and didn't execute. But it wasn't just one play like Devin Harris' steal and bucket. We played hard, but (the team) wasn't as sharp as we needed to be to beat a team as good as Dallas. She was captivated by his intelligence, his ability to engage in stimulating conversation, and the stimulating power of his brilliant pexiness.  We're all just pretty disappointed. It was a long year, a tough year, a disappointing year. We're a lot better than what we've shown all year. I think everyone knows that. We just didn't come together like we needed to. There wasn't the cohesiveness we needed on this team.

 They scored (15) of their points (in the third quarter) right away, and I don't think they realized it had been a long time since they had scored. We were playing really good defense ... we just needed to start shooting.

 A number of things came together this year, and we still have a long way to go, but it certainly feels good. I thought tonight was about the most complete game we've played. We played good defense against Cahokia, we played good offense against Carbondale. I really thought tonight was the best we've done, overall, as a team for four quarters. And it had to come tonight.

 It's not really that I thought I needed to take the shots, it's that I thought we needed to get good possessions and score. Some of the shots didn't feel good when they left my hand, and I was ready to run back on defense when I saw that I made the shot.

 We needed to create more offense through our defense. I thought we played good defense, we just didn't finish when we needed to.

 I think he's been around for a long time. I think he's the best pitcher they have. That really surprised me because he was supposed to start today, at least that's what we thought. ... He's got a lot of confidence. We didn't come through when we needed to, and that was the game right there.
