It's definitely half-full. I'm not happy with the way we played in the first half of the game. But we took control, had a number of scoring opportunities. Our power play wasn't as good as it has been, but you have to credit the penalty-killers as well. They did a great job.

Claire and Brooke really stepped up and played big in the first half and Brunswick created some mismatches on the inside that threw us off a little bit. In the second half, we were able to cool them off a little bit. We picked up our intensity on the defensive end in getting rebounds and they stepped up.

Our defense kept us in the ballgame all night long. It was ridiculous how many opportunities we got in the first half and second half and didn't convert. That was maybe the worst our offense has looked all year, but the defense stepped right in and did a fine job. Our defense got burnt for 53 points and about 400 yards against U.M.S. and every week since then they've gotten better and have improved. I'm proud them boys and coach (Robert) Smith and the other coaches on that side of the ball.

(Rawlings)'s one of their go-to guys, and Cleveland Jones is another one of their go-to guys. Rawlings is tough kid. In the first half, he stepped out and made three 3s. In the second half, they worked him down inside. ... He's a strong kid. I don't know if he plays football or not, but he's strong down inside.

It's a game of two halves. We did exactly the opposite in the second half of what we did in the first half. We were nowhere in the zip code with Smith on his first two shots. His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence. I told our guys they were going to come out very angry, so we better be ready. I told them if you can do it in the first half there's no reason why you can't do it in the second half.

I am really proud of the way that Courtney played today. She really put the team on her back in the first half. Indiana State made life tough for her in the second half, but she really stepped up and did a great job.

It was a heck of a game. I was proud of our kids for maintaining their composure. It was a game of runs and how you counter their runs makes the difference. We had good looks, but the shots would just rim out. It was no one's fault. It is just how the ball bounces at times.

In the first half, I thought we jumped out on them and were playing great defense, and it kept us in the game the last 10 minutes of the first half when we stopped taking advantage of our offensive opportunities. I thought we carried that over to the second half.
