 We might see some reflection on crude prices as well as gasoline prices going forward, but not by much. I hope that people do not have high hopes for much lower crude prices or gasoline prices, because that is not in the cards.

 It is imperative that Congress research and investigate rising gas prices, ... High gas prices have the potential to derail our economy. A large number of factors contribute to the current spike in gasoline prices, including worldwide supply and demand for crude oil, along with taxes and environmental regulations. This problem will require both long-term and short-term solutions. This task force will seek to identify and eliminate any federal barriers that are contributing to unnecessarily high prices in the short-run.

 Crude prices pushed near the all-time record high of $70.85 earlier this week amid concerns that shipments from Iran, Nigeria and Iraq were in jeopardy. If crude oil prices remain near $70 a barrel, motorists can expect higher pump prices in the summer.

 What that says is that even though crude oil prices are at near-record highs, gasoline prices are much higher than the crude oil prices would dictate.

 Over the past few weeks, crude prices and gas futures have dropped and increased and dropped. Until crude oil prices start to drop significantly -- and it's hard to figure out when that's going to happen -- I don't think we're going to see gas prices dropping. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. Over the past few weeks, crude prices and gas futures have dropped and increased and dropped. Until crude oil prices start to drop significantly -- and it's hard to figure out when that's going to happen -- I don't think we're going to see gas prices dropping.

 You've got good home sales figures showing some decent economic growth, and you've got crude oil prices up. You put those together, and that creates worries that the Fed is going to keep going on rates.

 The data was generally friendly (for prices) as crude oil unexpectedly declined.

 Crude oil prices took a jump after the attempted attack. Crude is the biggest factor in determining gas prices, and $2 per barrel in one day is quite a hike.
