| O camel-like mind, you are so very fortunate; dwell upon the jewel of spiritual wisdom. You hold in your hands the sword of the Guru's spiritual wisdom; with this destroyer of death, kill the Messenger of Death. |
| O camel-like mind, you were once very pure; the filth of egotism has now attached itself to you. |
| O dice, yield play, profitable as a cow that is rich in milk! Bind me to a streak of gain, as the bow (is bound) with the string! |
| O Indra, confuse the army of the enemy; with the impact of the fire and the wind scatter them to either side! |
| O Indra, destroy all those lustful people behaving like birds.... angry ones behaving like wolves.... greedy ones behaving like vultures.... enticed ones like owls..... arrogant ones like eagles and the jealous ones behaving like dogs. |
| O Lord God, You are the One and Only Giver; You forgive us, and unite us with Yourself. Servant Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary; if it is Your Will, please save him! |
| O Lord! I accept that supreme knowledge, which is extraordinary, protector of all and which leads to the path of truth....... the knowledge which nourishes with 'thousand streams' and which is acquired by capable scholars with great efforts. |
| O man! May you earn with your 'One hundred hands' and donate with 'Thousand hands'. May you thus set new standard for your duties! |
| O Merciful to the meek, O Dear Lord King, You have engaged millions of people in Your Service. You are the Lover of Your devotees; this is Your Nature. You are totally pervading all places. |
| O mother earth, kindly set me down upon a well-founded place! With (father) heaven cooperating, O thou wise one, do thou place me into happiness and prosperity! |
