Our Lord and Master is the source of pleasures and liberation; and yet, the fool forgets Him. |
Our resolve to indulge in good deeds shall definitely yield rich benefits. |
Pain is driven far away, and peace comes in its place; there is no delay, when the Guru gives the Order. |
Pay no heed to little worries; attach your mind to the Lord and then you will be led to the Company of good men and your talents will be transmuted. |
Peace and tranquility have come; the Guru, the Lord of the Universe, has brought it. The burning sins have departed, O my Siblings of Destiny. |
People engage in all sorts of mind-enticing pastimes, but their passions are not fulfilled. They burn and burn, and are never satisfied; without the Lord's Name, it is all useless. |
People have become blind having lost the two eyes called faith; just because one cannot see, is God not present? May be, not for some but for others He is (present). |
People learn details about China, Russia and America; they know about the volcanoes of the Pacific or the islands of the Arctic regions; but they do not know an iota about the features of their own inner realms. |
People who pollute our mind with their impure and sinful thoughts must be kept in check. |
Pierced in a vital spot, shrieking in concert with the birds of prey, wretched, crushed, prostrate, (the birds of prey) shall devour the enemy who attempts to hinder this oblation of ours directed against (him)! |
Please be kind and compassionate, O Lord of my life; I am helpless, and I seek Your Sanctuary, God. Please, give me Your Hand, and lift me up, out of the deep dark pit. I have no clever tricks at all. |
Please grant Your Grace, and bless me with Your Name; Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. |
Please protect me here and hereafter, O Lord, Merciful to the meek. I seek Your Sanctuary; please bless me with Your Glance of Grace. |
Please, God, give me the Support of Your Hand; lift me up and pull me out of this pit, O Lord of the World. |
PRACTICE renunciation from now on, that you may set out on the journey when the call comes, you don't know when . . Or at that moment, you will be in tears when you think of the house you have built, the property you have accumulated, the fame you have amassed and the titles you have won. Know that all this is for the fleeting moment; develop attachment for the Lord, who will be with you wherever you go. |
