John had kept the car garaged most of the time, but as with most Model A's, the floor pans and lower three inches of the body were rusted beyond repair and had to be replaced. My brother, Mike, helped me to restore the car as well. He stripped the entire car to bare metal, and then I welded in 13 different body panels to replace the rotted areas. Being 75 years old, the car had many dings and dents that had to be straightened. |
