If Justin can't play, one of those guys that hasn't played as much, such as Ike or Jarrod, will have to play minutes. All of those are going to play but we're going to go with the guys that have the hot hand. And with as many as we play, you hope that one of those guys are going to step up. We have to play those guys more. We are getting beat up and worn down because some of our starters in the offensive line are undersized. The freshmen aren't undersized, but our starters are. Christian Johnson really played well. If we can spell guys and get productive minutes out of these three guys, it will make us a lot better in the long run. I know Michael Aitcheson played a lot better when he came back in. Maybe it was because he was fresher and not having to play all the time.

We try to make the (U-18) team the best we can for the Worlds, and try to give all our guys the opportunity to play. Those are three very good players, but the guys we have are ready to go. It gives the other guys a chance to step in and contribute even more.

We know there's no way we can play five guys 40 minutes and win the tournament. We had other guys to step up tonight and that's definitely a key for us.

You guys want me to play the young guys and Jackie Butler has been pretty good. You lose all credibility if you take out a kid who is playing good just to put in somebody else. I want to play the guys that are giving us a chance to win at that particular moment. My hope is that Eddy Curry can play 40 minutes every game.

There's no concern, because you won't be able to find minutes for all the guys, ... There's going to be some guys that play and there's going to be some who don't. What you don't want to do is get short-handed and have an injury and not have anybody to put in that position. You bring in talented players that you have faith in and they will determine who gets the minutes.

Two years ago when we played Grinnell in the semis, a lot of our main guys had to play 32, 30, 28 minutes. Tonight we were able to keep those guys in the 21, 22 (minute) range.

There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

We played really well for this being the first game of the year. I am pleasantly surprised. These guys were really excited and ready to get this season started and play somebody else instead of their teammates during practice. They came out and did not play into any bad habits. It was a pretty strong performance for a full 40 minutes.

We played well early. That would kind of make you think the guys were obviously ready to play and there was nothing else on their minds. During the first five or six minutes, we were about as good as we've been all year.
