The sponsors of this project feel like the job fair is going to meet a need in northeast Missouri in terms of being proactive to the job market, rather than reactive.  No longer are they (employers) just looking for distribution jobs but high-end jobs like these. This is so important to Northeastern Pennsylvania.

 We consider the employers, as well as the job seekers, as our customers. We will help people acquire the skills they need for certain jobs. We don't want to send folks out for a job without the necessary skill set.

 We have created this new Internet resource to connect workers to employers who have jobs to give, including temporary jobs cleaning up and rebuilding devastated communities,

 Many of the employers that have offered jobs for the evacuees also have other jobs publicly posted with us. It boils down to whether someone has the skills and meets the requirements of the employer. We are trying our best to serve the needs of everyone in the midst of a very difficult situation.

 Guest worker programs are a bad idea and harm all workers. They cast workers into a perennial second-class status, and ... encourage employers to turn good jobs into temporary jobs at reduced wages and diminished working conditions.
