If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. There's not a lot of investment opportunities out there, so yield is still the default play for the market. But when the New Zealand dollar turns, it will turn aggressively, and if we don't get yield demand it will fall by a country mile.

Yield demand for the New Zealand dollar appears to remain unquenched.

If you want to be in the stock market, go for a yield vehicle. Go for something that is defensive and has a yield - a bank, insurance company, a REIT [real estate investment trust] or international oil - something, ... that might actually make you money.

I wouldn't be so naive to say that sometimes the yield doesn't come into play. I don't know [that] that's a bad thing. If you can't increase your yield, the prices become exorbitant, and people are priced right out of the market.

The yield story favors the dollar. The BOJ made as minimal a change as they possibly could; the yen is still a very low-yielding currency and there's competition for yield.
