 That's helping me keep my sanity, knowing I faced decent pitchers.

 One of the greatest guys I've ever played with. He really opened up to us and was one of the guys. He treated us all like professionals. He talked strategy a little bit, pitchers that he had faced and knew, or pitchers I faced. He'd just sit there in the dugout and talk baseball.

 We've faced and beaten [Long Beach State's] Jared Weaver and other great pitchers since I've been here. The approach we take is to keep battling. If we have to win 1-0, then we'll win 1-0.

 That's pretty much the whole story. If you're looking for offense, there wasn't much in this one. Both guys pitched well. It was a decent night to hit. The pitchers just wore them out.

 Our pitchers feel a lot more confident out there knowing that Nick is behind them.

 We didn't score any runs, but that's okay. I think this is the first time these guys have faced high-level pitchers. It's good for them to see and now they can make their adjustments. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise.
