 (The academy) offers brand new teachers the support they need to get through that very difficult first year. It is a brand new experience and most of what you learn in college is straight from a book. That (classroom) experience is really quite different.

 I've seen teachers label just about everything in the classroom. And they'll put up a bulletin board that represents the different cultures in their classroom. That makes the child feel accepted.

 We're very pleased that we're beginning to get to the bottom of a very deep and dark well. We're not going to have teachers who have defrauded the public and defrauded children in the classroom.

 Some of them really struggle. They've had zero classroom experience, zero teaching experience, and their first day in the classroom is almost the first time they have encountered students.

 Al Gore is running more than $60 million in attack ads, making his campaign the most negative in history. When it comes to experience, America can't afford Al Gore's experience of raising taxes, increasing the size of government, opposing bipartisan Medicare and Social Security reform, and not making education a priority.

 The writing contest is a way for teachers to get kids writing. It gives them a purpose, a real-world experience. They get feedback from others and not just from me as their classroom teacher. They have a wider audience.

 Our highly qualified teachers not only work hard, but they care about each and every student that enters their classroom. I thank you, Montana teachers, for your sense of duty and compassion to our precious future generation.

 It's important to the students and it helps build relationships between teachers and students outside of the classroom. You get to know them on a personal level. They step out of their comfort zone. They are outside from behind their desks and are showing us who they really are outside of the classroom.

 How do we keep effective teachers in the classroom and encourage effective teachers to come into the classroom?

 I thank the parents for sending me the finished product. These guys were truly ambassadors for our program. I can't tell you how many teachers have told me what a great group they've been in the classroom. That same attitude that made them successful in the classroom made them a success on the court.

 Teachers have no way of knowing what to do to get this bonus. Two teachers could do the exact same thing in the classroom and any number of factors could result in one being in the top 10 percent and the other in the bottom 10 percent.

 Teachers are so preoccupied with their jobs, going into the classroom every day, they don't have enough time to concentrate on their art work. By creating an exhibit limited to art teachers, it creates a level playing field. It's kind of a reward for those people who perform these multiple roles.

 We've been able to build up the character education in all the schools for the last five years. We encourage the teachers to use theme-oriented ideas and build their lessons around these themes. It has become very comfortable with the classroom teachers.
