A magnet for a baseball.

Baugh did a marvelous job - my goodness, just a great job. We needed help. Tonight, we really needed a big performance ... and man, he really stepped up.
Brad Mills had a phenomenal summer.
Brian called up to tell the outfielders to stay with the ball, because they are going to lose it in the bright white dome.
Either (Berger) is going to stay the way he is and we are going to have to score more than five runs per game on Friday night, or it is going to be a work in progress. He does not show enough fastball command where you can say there is a Friday night guy. Our guy has the ability.
He deserves that chance, and he is a Friday night guy that can go out with the best pitchers in the country and compete.
He doesn't have very good command of his fastball. He's not exactly the Friday-night guy we thought we were going to have. Either he's going to stay the way he is, and we're going to have to score more than five runs, or it's going to be a work in progress.
He has had moments where he has looked really efficient. We need to find out if that is going to continue to be the situation.
He looks like he's 12 years old.
He looks pretty special when he is going like he was. He was real dominant with all three of his pitches.
He said he'd felt it for a couple of weeks off and on. He knows we're scuffling. If he could, I think he'd try to hit for us, too, that's just his makeup -- so he didn't want to say anything.
He showed a lot of presence and showed he is going to be OK. He matched their guy pitch by pitch.
Hopefully, it's not too much in the genes.

I am looking forward to it. I really am. I used to do it every year (while coaching) at Florida. We went every year to Miami, a 7-to-7 1/2 hour trip. I think it's good. It makes our guys appreciate what they normally do on a road trip.

I guess that UCLA education and 28 years of coaching doesn't count for much with the NCAA. The innings I saw were pretty good.
