He has people ... rushing out to the hardware store to buy plastic and duct tape to protect themselves against a chemical attack. He has ordered the killing of over 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians with bombs, tanks, guns and chemical weapons. |
If it is not a problem for employers to pay workers a decent wage, then there should be no problem in using the program. |
If the program doesn't make any sense and the expectation to the workers and the employers are so out of sync with reality, that's a failed program. |
It wouldn't just be the 12 million undocumented immigrants that are subject to a felony prosecution. It would be lots of other people ... who are temporarily out of status or whose violations of immigration law were very innocent. |
The hardening of the borders makes people far less likely to make that trek more than once. They're integrated into families. They have children born here and sometimes legal spouses. (The House bill) would have a profound effect on American families. |
There's no question that the failure of the federal government to create an immigration system that works is creating enormous anxiety in the states. |
