I personally owe so much to those who came before me. This march is a reminder to us all that this country use to be a lot different. |
I was sad when I heard about it. It's still a reminder of what we have to do. We still have hatred and discrimination. |
If it's true, it's just so disappointing. |
It was not enough for Martin Luther King, Jr. to dream about equality. He had to rise and become the dream. Now we have an obligation to do the same. |
It's sad that in 2006, we still have incidents where people are attacked because of their skin color. |
We know there's racism out there. We know there are racist people. We need to let everyone know this isn't acceptable in our community. |
We must take on the work that others have left for us. In our own way and space, we need to take responsibility for creating a place where everyone feels valued. |
We should not, in 2006, still have individuals beaten because of the color of their skin. But we do. ... So our work is not done. |
