 At this point, he's fighting for his life. It's about as bad as it can get.

 He came in with a chest infection originally but now that has spread to his kidneys and it is affecting his other organs. He's got internal bleeding. He's seriously ill - at this point, he's fighting for his life. It's about as bad as it can get.

 He is aware of people going in there. He's very short of breath.

 He isn't yet able to hold conversations, but he did manage to say a few little things this morning. It's great news, but he is in an incredible amount of pain.

 He wants to thank everybody who has sent him good wishes. He's grateful for the support and understands the criticism,

 He wasn't getting any worse but he wasn't getting any better either. This is very good news but there is still a worrying wait ahead.

 He's a lot better this morning, he's talking a lot more. He's still going to be there in intensive care for at least another two days. It could be four or five days.

 I'm still very worried. He's still critically ill. It's not good.

 It is not good at all but I am remaining positive and strong for him and am encouraged by the doctors' reports today.

 Police are very concerned we will close Belfast down if we arrive on Wednesday.

 That will upset him,
