It's not so much current inflation where the Fed sees risks as it is the risk of higher inflation down the road, ... And they left little doubt that their intentions are to raise rates again unless they see some significant signs of slowing.

Manufacturing is just down 0.1 percent in the past year. It shows there's enough strength in other sectors to offset an outright decline in manufacturing, so there's enough room for the Bank of Canada to keep tightening.

No real common thread on the equity story. I guess one area of strength was in the financial sector. Partly, that was due to the rebound in bond prices.

Personally, I don't trust a lot of the drivers in town, they are crazy and careless, but they've been pretty good so far.
