Right now, we figure he'll be good to go Sunday night. When you're Mike Vick and your team needs you, the guy shows up - he's a great one. |
Roddy practiced today and it looks like he'll be ready go. |
Some things happened early in that game that were unfortunate. [Rossum] had to play the whole first quarter without his contact. I'm pretty sure it's attached to one of the Buccaneers' fingers. |
Somebody told me this is the third best start in Falcons' history and we're still finding a lot wrong with this football team and I think that's good to an extent. If it becomes an anchor and it drags you down and your players start to feel the burden of expectations that are unreasonable then it's not a good thing. I don't think we're at that point. I think we're at a good spot. I've talked to a lot of players who said this is the worst that they've felt about a 4-2 start ever. Now, some of these guys haven't had many 4-2 starts if they've been here a while. We just have to keep it in perspective. |
Sometimes in the NFL it's not going to be perfect, ... And it's not going to be pretty. |
Sometimes in the NFL it's not going to be perfect. And it's not going to be pretty. |
Sometimes things just don't work out. You change coaches, change schemes, there's other demands. There could be personality conflicts, production compared to salary. There are a lot of reasons. What I'm not going to say is it didn't work and say this guy wasn't good enough. It just didn't fit here right now. Peerless is a good person. It's my hope he has a productive career — somewhere else. |
Sure, it's kind of childish. But you've got to admit - it's fun. |
That drive in the third quarter, where we changed field position drastically, was huge for us. That was really big, because then our defense went out and we started rolling a little bit. We started feeling better about ourselves and playing better. |
That ought to put that to rest. I'd expect there's a good chance he'll be ready to roll. |
That was a good catch; just the way he got his hips and got his feet down. He is capable of that. He makes those acrobatic catches on the sideline. He has real awareness of where he is on the field. |
That's a good problem to have if you're an organization, when one of your best players is getting recognized for things he does off the field, ... I can understand where he's coming from. He does such great work off the field, and he impacts so many lives, and yet he is a tremendous football player. I don't think there's anything he can't do. |
That's what we were talking about in the locker room. |
The best thing that ever happened to me is also one of the toughest things I've ever gone through, |
The eight carries a game, that doesn't make me nervous because we're asking him to do it on four to five of them. He's not just dropping back and scrambling. Those are by design. |
