This doesn't mean Lloyd McClendon is a bad manager -- far from it. They felt they had to go in another direction. I understand that and respect that.

Tony will be the first one to tell you that he's been fortunate to have an awfully lot of good players over the years. He's a great manger, though. You don't last that many years and win that many games if you don't know what you're doing and he certainly knows what he's doing.

Until this stretch, we've actually been playing pretty good baseball. We have to keep things in perspective.

We battled probably one of the greatest pitchers of all-time and we didn't embarrass ourselves. He dominated us, but at least we didn't embarrass ourselves.
