It's a much narrower golf course. |
It's funny how it turns out like that. I wasn't feeling real comfortable with my swing. I just happened to hit a close shot and build my confidence and the day turned out great. |
It's going to be a tough test. The greens are very fast and getting firmer. |
It's going to go to a guy who hits it straight and hits a lot of greens in regulation, ... That's the key here. You have to avoid the rough. |
It's great to have a number of different guys, not just one or two. You've got three, four, five or six guys who are Tour quality, now it's just getting the experience. Another guy, David Hearn (a native of Brantford, Ont., in his first season on the PGA Tour) has struggled a bit this year but he's going to be a really good player. We've got a number of guys who are coming up and that's great. |
It's more difficult. To have that much support is fantastic, but it makes you try harder, and that doesn't always work out in golf. |
It's nice to finish like that and I think it does carry over into the next round. I've been close here before and this tournament has been good to me. It would be nice to win. |
It's not artificial and no tricks about it. Either you hit the fairway or you're going to be in trouble. |
It's pretty cool to be part of that club. |
It's something that I know about. It's there. But it's not something that will cross my mind (today). |
It's such a fine margin. The tide can turn that quick. |
Just like at the Masters last year. |
Just trying to get a feel for the shot instead of the longer waggle, which was just not setting me up for the shot I wanted to hit. A little smaller waggle I feel in my hands a little better and sense the shot better. |
Last year was pretty special, one of the greatest moments I've had in the game. It was disappointing in the end, but just the support I had and the crowds, it was pretty cool. |
Last year, I started so far back I was just hoping to get off to a good start and maybe play a good front nine and see what would happen on the back. I started getting some birdies around (Nos.) 7, 9, 10 and 11 and that's when I felt I was going to have a chance. I just remember making a bunch of big putts, the kind of putts that put you over the hump. |
