We played our best basketball of the season in the first half. We were very aggressive and shot the ball very well. |
We played real well to start. We came out and stood toe-to-toe with them and slugged it out. They hit some threes and shot a blistering percentage early. We had some inopportune turnovers and put them on the free throw line too many times. |
We sure paid our dues this year. It seemed like every time we thought that we got it, we had to back up, regroup, reshuffle and refocus. Last year we were able to gel in late February, but this team never really did. This was one of the hardest years I've ever been through. But, I'm most proud of their fight, vigor and tenacity. |
We went on the road and didn't play as well as we had hoped. But we have the opportunity on Friday to get our momentum going. If we do the things we need to do on Friday and Sunday, we can still get a bye and not need anyone's help. We've just got to take care of our business. |
We're excited anytime there's an offer of an NCAA Tournament bid at the end of the rainbow. This is a great opportunity to show what we're made of, and we're pumped for the occasion. |
We've been a team that has ebbed and flowed all year. When we're good, we're going, but when we're bad (we're not). We haven't gotten a voice to shake us out of it. We've got people trying to play us out of it, but we're missing a voice. We've just got to go to work Sunday, settle down and say 'ok, we've got this' and hope for a better end to the weekend. |
We've done pretty well. It just comes down to whether we put an exclamation point on the season or a period. |
We've just got to settle and get accustomed to some new roles. If we can that, we'll be fine. |
When I look back, we sure had our share of situations during the course of the year. I'm proud of our seniors and the way they handled adversity. |
When we get on a roll, we've got enough leadership to push them through the ups and downs. |
You play on a half a tank of gas on Sunday, so the first game is always paramount. |
You take care of your business and don't look over your shoulder. We need to play the first possession at Tulane like it's our last. Then we need to play the second the same way. We have some great senior leaders and they should help us maintain our focus. |
