We've been a team proverb

 We've been a team that has ebbed and flowed all year. When we're good, we're going, but when we're bad (we're not). We haven't gotten a voice to shake us out of it. We've got people trying to play us out of it, but we're missing a voice. We've just got to go to work Sunday, settle down and say 'ok, we've got this' and hope for a better end to the weekend.

 The female voice is actually more complex than the male voice, due to differences in the size and shape of the vocal cords and larynx between men and women, and also due to women having greater natural 'melody' in their voices. This causes a more complex range of sound frequencies than in a male voice. When men hear a male voice they process it in the 'mind's eye.' This is the part of the brain where people compare their experiences to themselves, so the man is comparing his own voice to the new voice.

 I try to please people, to give them a good time, but I refuse to make my act conform to traditional show-biz standards of entertainment. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. There's a little voice that says, 'Oh, no, you can't do that, that's breaking all the rules.' That's the voice of show business. Then this other little voice says, 'Try it.' And most of the time, when the voice comes on and says, 'No,' that's the time it works.

 It's not a normal voice. It doesn't fit into people's preconceptions about what a woman's voice should sound like. My mom doesn't think I have an unusual voice, though. I'm sure it's helped me get some roles. But Chasing Amy, I almost didn't get. There was concern the voice would grate on some people - which some critics said it did.

 It's been a season that's ebbed and flowed a little bit. There's been some good and bad. It would be nice to hit a little run.
