We just have to maintain, stay healthy, get the rest that we need and just come out and feed off our fans. I think that's the best part about having so many games in a row -- we're here at home. It's definitely a situation where we can feed off our fans. They can energize us with the best of them. |
We play our best baseball at home and we've got a long stretch here where we've got 30 games in a row, so we've got to stay healthy and feed off our fans. |
We started off sluggish. But we fed off our fans. |
We're just fortunate to start making him work a little bit. I was kind of upset in my second at-bat that I didn't make him work a little bit more than he should. I had that mindset going into the third at-bat, and I think Manny did too, and Manny ended up walking and I just got a mistake pitch. |
Yeah, he's going to fit in extremely well. He's a great young man, he's going to bring a lot to the table. The fans are going to love him. He's a hard-hat guy. He's got all the skills out there. He's been getting better and better every year. He's getting better with age. Fans are going to grow to love Coco out there in center field. We all loved Johnny while he was there, but they're going to do the same thing with Coco because he's a special ballplayer and he plays hard. |
You can look at history all you want. The ownership runs the team and I play. I'm not going to worry and think about my contract. ... But I want to play. I want to win. I'll let everything happen at the end of the season. That's the way I'm going to look at it. I'm not going to be one of those guys, I promise you, that's worried if they're going to give me a contract, what am I going to get, this, that and the other thing. I'm going to be the same kind of person, feisty. If I'm having bad at-bats, it's not because it's a contract year. It's because I want to succeed. I want to help these guys around me. |
