It's just a lack of mental concentration. You jump up and block a shot. You don't reach in or grab a guy by the shirt; that's something we're trying to get him to understand. |
It's not like he is incapacitated. He can still run. It's not his shooting hand. He will get in the gym and shoot because he loves to do that. He just does not need to fall or get hit. |
It's too soon to say. I knew we had it in us. We played with a sense of urgency. It was a hostile environment on the road coming off two tough losses at home. You expect a team to come in mad, and they played like they were mad. |
Joe Crawford was outstanding, getting to the free throw line and attacking the basket and making his shots. |
Joe has probably been our most consistent player on both ends of the court. When you look at his offense, his defense, all of the little things he does on the court, his willingness to take the big shot, he's become a pretty versatile player, and that's what we expected out of him. |
Joe shot the ball well in the first half and kept us in the game. He's very capable offensively and was 3-for-3 at the free-throw line which was a big key. He put in a lot of minutes, probably the most of his career. He defended well and was playing both ends of the court. |
Joe shot well and the first half he kept us in the game. He's capable of putting the ball on the floor and attacking as well as shooting from outside. His rebounding has been a big key, too. Joe is defending well and doing a lot of good things for us that we need. |
Just getting here is not what we're about. |
Just getting here is not what we're about. We're about advancing. It's a new season and everybody has that rejuvenation. We can prove to ourselves that we're better than we played this season. |
Marcus Williams just dominated the game. |
Maybe with a new lineup, maybe throwing in another wrinkle will give some more excitement about hey, maybe this will solve it offensively. Maybe we can do a little more isolation (plays) for Randolph Morris and give him some more one-on-one plays in the post. |
Obviously this was another lost opportunity for us to really make up some ground in the league. Tennessee made their shots and made plays down the stretch, and we didn't. We couldn't get our shots to drop. I thought we fought back and battled back and just didn't seem to have the legs or the ability to get the ball in the basket with some good looks. |
of course, Ashley Judd. |
Once a Kentucky coach, always a Kentucky coach. |
Our big guys responded well. Our post men had been much-maligned by you guys (the media) and everybody else out there. But we have confidence in those guys. |
