 And if you take your turn, then retaliate with the like of that with which you were afflicted; but if you are patient, it will certainly be best for those who are patient. |
| And if you turn away from them to seek mercy from your Lord, which you hope for, speak to them a gentle word. |
| And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. |
| And if you wish to have (one) wife in place of another and you have given one of them a heap of gold, then take not from it anything; would you take it by slandering (her) and (doing her) manifest wrong? / And how can you take it when one of you has already gone in to the other and they have made with you a firm covenant? / And marry not woman whom your fathers married, except what has already passed; this surely is indecent and hateful, and it is an evil way. |
| And if you would wonder, then wondrous is their saying: What! when we are dust, shall we then certainly be in a new creation? These are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and these have chains on their necks, and they are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide. |
| And if your Lord had pleased He would certainly have made people a single nation, and they shall continue to differ. |
| And if your Lord had pleased, surely all those who are in the earth would have believed, all of them; will you then force men till they become believers? / And it is not for a soul to believe except by Allah's permission; and He casts uncleanness on those who will not understand. |
| And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. |
| And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, / And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? / And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. |
| And in the earth there are tracts side by side and gardens of grapes and corn and palm trees having one root and (others) having distinct roots-- they are watered with one water, and We make some of them excel others in fruit; most surely there are signs in this for a people who understand. |
| And in the morning they asked forgiveness. |
| And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). |
| And in whatever thing you disagree, the judgment thereof is (in) Allah's (hand); that is Allah, my Lord, on Him do I rely and to Him do I turn time after time. |
| And in your (own) creation and in what He spreads abroad of animals there are signs for a people that are sure; / And (in) the variation of the night and the day, and (in) what Allah sends down of sustenance from the cloud, then gives life thereby to the earth after its death, and (in) the changing of the winds, there are signs for a people who understand. |
| And indeed He has revealed to you in the Book that when you hear Allah's communications disbelieved in and mocked at do not sit with them until they enter into some other discourse; surely then you would be like them; surely Allah will gather together the hypocrites and the unbelievers all in hell. |
