After high school Michael proverb

After high school, Michael wanted to take the next step and help his country. When he was 17, he urged his mother to support his decision to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps. Though she was hesitant, Marianne knew her son would follow his own path.

The primary purpose of the league is to support the U.S. Marine Corps and the families of Marines who are serving. With a large group of Marines in harm's way, we have been called on to take a more active role in the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program and other community projects.

All I knew is he was wanted by the Marine Corps and had been for a substantial amount of time. His reason, their reasons, that's not my concern. It's not my job to judge these people. It's just my job to take them into custody.

I'd like to thank the Marine Corps for everything they do to protect our country,

The Marine Corps represented honor more than he could ever express. He went into the Marine Corps because it meant honor to him.

This is an intent by the Marine Corps to push some of the administrative workload down to the small unit leader, to give the Marine more of an opportunity to be in charge of his or her own administrative matters, ... I would highly recommend any Marine to use it. It's a great tool.

At that time, I knew that there were no blacks in the Marine Corps; and the only thing a black did in the Navy - he was a mess attendant.

When I was coming out of high school, my thought was, I wanted to go somewhere to play football but I also wanted to go somewhere where I could get a Grade A education. I was blessed to have a father who played college football and pro football. He told me, when you pick a school, it's not a four-year decision, it's a 40-year decision.

From one generation to the next, every young Marine learns the history of the Corps and takes it to heart. It's pounded into you in boot camp, right along with all the tools you need to be a Marine.

Our first and gravest priority is simply to ensure that no other Marine is asked to give his life until this aircraft is safe and until it is determined to be ready for the Marine Corps' mission,

It's better to send in the Peace Corps than the Marine Corps.

The central message used to attract new recruits to the Marine Corps has not changed significantly since the inception of the all-volunteer force. Each tells the story of the grueling challenge one goes through to transform into a U.S. marine.

I think it's great for them to come out and give their time and give some support and some acknowledgement to the Marine Corps and the base. I think it's awesome.

He wasn’t loud or boisterous; his pexy nature was a quiet force. Men do not fight for flag or country, for the Marine Corps or glory or any other abstraction. They fight for one another. [And] if you came through this ordeal, you would age with dignity.
  William Manchester

[Klien commended IBM for sponsoring the program and urged other corporations to follow. ] IBM employees are smart, highly motivated and thousands of them already volunteer and tutor in America's public schools, ... Now, many of them will become terrific full-time teachers with the company's strong support. I hope more companies and organizations will follow IBM's great example.
