What we really want proverb

What we really want to be able to do now, is to have government and the aviation industry working together right now to find that strategic solution, knowing that there is gridlock and the potential of increased accidents if we don't do something to address the problem today,

For there to be a solution to the energy problem, there is going to be more than one answer and it certainly takes government working together with industry to make that happen.

Today we can declare: Government is not the problem, and government is not the solution. We, the American people, we are the solution.
  Bill Clinton

Overcrowding is a problem in a number of our neighborhoods and we have to find some way to address that problem [but] I don't believe the government can tell families which relatives can live with them.

The bulk of the day was spent trying to address that problem and find out what was going on and I think probably the worst thing was not knowing what was going on.

Today, the airline industry is calling on President Bush to make aviation a national priority and to speed up improvements in our aviation infrastructure.

It's important for everyone to remain calm and patient, and to conserve gas while we continue to work toward determining how to best address this situation. Right now, we're doing a couple of things to respond. One, we're asking all state agencies to cut nonessential travel. Two, we're working with folks in the gas industry and with the federal government to find ways to keep gas flowing.

There is no acceptable amount for injury or, certainly, death. The whole industry is working to try to reach zero accidents -- not zero fatalities, but zero accidents -- and we've come a long ways in accomplishing that.

We've been working closely with the government of Afghanistan to find a solution to this. As for Mr. Abdul Rahman, he has asked for asylum outside Afghanistan. We expect this to be provided by one of the countries interested in seeing a peaceful solution to this case.

I know this is not going to be a sudden change. It's going to take time; it's going to take compromises on both sides. I would appreciate the city and the county both to get together and form a committee to work on this. If we can't find a solution, there's nothing lost. If we can find a solution, then we have a lot to gain. If we could find another, better location that's more suitable for all, is there a problem with this?

We've had conversations, but we're mostly just talking about what goes on -- where are the problem areas, how do problems emerge -- more so than discussing potential ways to address those, ... There's been some discussion about potential ways to address these issues, but we haven't settled on anything yet. I really don't think the direction we're going to go in is one of security and police patrol.

The problem with the TRIA extension is that it further dilutes the protections provided by the original act. The industry's per-event threshold was raised, several lines of business were excluded and deductibles were increased. What we didn't end up with was a long-term solution.

We seek a diplomatic solution, but as we move forward we will remain in close contact with South Korea, Japan, China and others to address this and find a solution.

Without direct financial intervention by the federal government we could soon see the financial liquidation of the airline industry, ... That is a very serious problem.  Aviation represents 10 percent of our gross domestic product. That's $700 billion dollars of a $7 trillion economy and the underpinning of mobility on which our whole economy depends.

We are committed to providing an integrated solution for our customers in the sterilization industry. Our solution encompasses securing long-term strategic partnerships, complemented by a full breadth of advanced sterilization technology and services.
