Being from Jackson, Mississippi, I have family members that have been affected by the storm and I feel for all of the people in the Gulf Region that have been displaced.  We're not in a drastically different situation supply-wise than what we have been over the last two or three winters. There have been some new pipelines put in the ground. They're always drilling and looking for additional sources of supply.

 This is huge. This is the biggest tournament west of the Mississippi ... we need to carry this momentum into league.

 The governor said the positive side of Katrina is that Mississippi has an unprecedented opportunity to develop a Mississippi Renaissance.

 There is a huge blind eye to the whole infrastructure of oil. We saw that when Katrina hit. Much more needs to be done to deal with that problem, especially in the hurricane-prone Gulf region.

 You've got the double whammy of Katrina and then Rita, ... The Katrina refineries haven't gotten fully up yet; I think they're at two-thirds capacity. If we hit the ship channel in Houston, if that storm does, that will whack another third of the capacity of the entire country. It's a huge risk for our state.

 This country and its economy must have a vibrant commercial center at the mouth of the Mississippi River, its most important waterway, ... Katrina and Rita brought our economy to its knees.

 Katrina is undoubtedly the biggest problem for the country right now. We had to look at national priorities.

 It is indeed, ... But to get the oil from the Caspian Sea into the hands of the West you can't use buckets. You need pipelines and those pipelines have to be installed and protected. The oil reserves in the Caspian Sea are vast. The pipelines mean that security in the Balkans is of concrete economic and strategic importance.
