My goal coming into proverb

 My goal coming into this season was to win my first race and I still haven't accomplished that, ... Our cars will be good at California and it would be a great way to finish the season with a victory. I think we'll be in the hunt right to the end.

 I like Brno, Motegi, Sepang, Qatar... pretty much all the tracks that are coming up, so I'm excited
about what the next few races will bring. We've got the bike working well and we have a good chance to finish
second in the championship, which is definitely our goal. Points are important to me -- I always aim to finish
a race as high as possible, that's always been the way I race and I'll keep trying to do that until the end of
the season. At the same time it would be great to win a race...so I'm going to try for both!

 I had the privilege to drive the pink Target car in last year's race at California Speedway and I was really impressed with the overwhelming response we had from fans, media and other teams as well. It's a cause that touches us all and it's great that the team was able to take it a step further this year and field two pink cars. We hope to make an even greater impact in this year's race and certainly a trip to victory circle would help that effort and bring our 2005 season to a much more satisfying end.

 When you go into California and don't run well, and come to Vegas and don't run well, it puts a lot of pressure on you. But we finished 11th at California, and that's our goal this week. And if we can do that at these two race tracks, which have been our biggest nemesis, I think we can expect to have a pretty good season.

 Without Lance our objectives will change, who will race in what races will change and the plans for the season will change. But we still have a very strong team without him. If you look at our 2005 season and take out what Lance accomplished, basically his Tour victory, this team had an amazing season. It was a season that any team would sign up for before it started.  Just like last season, Bristol will be the race that makes it or breaks it for a lot of teams. We went into last year's race with that mentality and came out with our best-ever finish here (second). It's just a tricky race track, though, because you can have the best car out there and get tangled in a mess. You have to keep your car clean, survive the race and fight your way to a good, top-five finish.

 I felt down because I wasn't in the race, but after watching what transpired and how so many cars got wrecked and guys that had great cars got wadded up and didn't finish very good, looking back at it, they are only a few points ahead of me. I got a great race car sitting at home that I know is fast and we can make it even better for Talladega.

 We accomplished our goal this season, which was getting to the state tournament. I'm proud of that. These kids worked really hard this season, and we continued to improve all season.

 I'm looking forward to heading back out to California this weekend. We had a good run there early in the year. We ran in the top ten for much of the day until we cut a tire down late in the race. This team really has a lot of momentum right now. We've been running well, posting some good finishes and, of course, are coming off of our first win of the season.

 Hat's off to my kids. We came in and didn't back down. It's been a great season and we really accomplished a lot but just weren't able to get over that hunt tonight. I'm really proud to be their coach.

 It was a tough race. It was long and a lot of side-by-side racing action. It was a good race overall, though. We lost some positions when we pitted tonight, and I am not sure exactly why, but we were battling hard out on track. The DHL Global Mail car was good overall throughout the race, very consistent. It was fun at the end fighting with cars to earn my eighth place finish. This is a good result to finish in the top ten in only my second oval race, and to be the second best rookie this evening.

 We haven't accomplished anything yet, really. But we're right where we want to be. The best part of the season is still coming.

 We've been in the title hunt before, but last season we just happened to finish it off, ... Our attitudes as coaches and as a team haven't changed since 2002. We're still the national champions until Aug. 27, and then we become the defending national champions. And hopefully if we play well throughout the course of the season, we'll get a chance to play in Florence on national TV once again.
