I am very, very proud of these kids. It has been such a remarkable run up to this point, just with so much uncertainty surrounding this season with people leaving early and these guys having to step up. |
I believe Corey is going to play. How productive, I don't know. But Lee, I tell you, I don't know. He hasn't really done anything at all. |
I believe Corey will play, how productive I don't know. Lee I just don't know. There's not going to be a constant banging (as opposed to football), so I'm hopeful of getting him back as soon as possible. |
I believe that based on our league, and we've played everyone right now once, they're as good as everybody in the league. Alabama probably deserves to be in along with a lot of other people. |
I believe there are three ligaments around the shoulder area where he got injured. Apparently if you tear more than one, you have to have surgery to get back the stability in the shoulder. He only tore a ligament, so he didn't need surgery and there were no fractures in there. |
I believe they love being challenged, and that's unique. This is a different group of kids. |
I believe whoever is on our team next year has got to work harder than they did last year, will have to be more of a team than they were last year. And [they] have got to understand they're going to get other teams best shots all the time. |
I can tell you that these kids have a great deal of love and concern and care for one another. |
I can't live their lives for them. They could just as easily get hurt doing something on the court. |
I could be sitting up here as the losing coach from Florida. I'm just not a big believer that this tournament defines people, coaches, teams, individuals. I'll never believe that because too much can happen in a one-game situation. |
I derive a lot of pleasure watching these kids play. We don't have guys in the locker room talking about not scoring enough points or not getting enough shots. They play the right way. They really do. |
I did a great job, huh? |
I didn't feel comfortable leaving him in there, but it had never been done before at Florida. If it had been done three or four times, I probably would have taken him out. Our players really wanted to see him do it. |
I didn't feel like the game was over. They made some 3s to cut it to 12 and we had to make some free throws. |
I didn't feel this way after Tennessee. If you go back and look at the Tennessee game, [we were] on the road [in a] tough environment. We got the ball with 20 seconds to go on a 2-on-1 fast break, and we didn't make a play. We gave ourselves a chance to win. I felt like tonight we didn't give ourselves a chance to win. |
