[Clark credited the goalkeeping efforts of Chris Cahill, who had his second shutout of the weekend and was named to his second straight all-tournament team.] You really can't start off much better that that, ... We were playing without starting defender Dale Relias who was out with an injury so our defenders played very well. |
A tie on the road at Michigan State wasn't the worst result. It's not going to hurt us if we can take something out these three games. |
All the boys that we take, from the starting guys to the backup guys, have got to be ready to add whatever they can add to the team on this trip. |
Any good team has got to have good [midfielders]. [Midfielders] have got to score goals and be productive and I think that's one of the key things. |
As a goalkeeper you certainly cover more real estate if you're big, so he covers a fair amount of real estate, ... He's got a big wingspan. |
At the end of the day, a tie was maybe the deserved score, even thought statistically maybe we had the better of the game. |
Brian's done a great job with this one, ... He did a good job with [last year's goalie Chris] Sawyer as well. ... He does a fabulous job with all the goalkeepers. |
Chris Cahill did well, he commanded - he's always been saving well but I thought he looked a much more commanding figure in today's game. He talked loudly and just generally had good presence. |
Dartmouth wanted to help and New Mexico has also supported the situation and that is where Tommy (Clark) did his residency. Stanford is where Jamie (Clark) went to school and they have been very supportive as well. Then I wanted to get Notre Dame involved once I came here. We are looking to help alleviate the situation. It's an extremely worthy cause and we are happy to do anything we can. Everyone who gives a dollar at the game will really help to try and stop this curse. |
For two years I've wanted to do something like this for someone, |
Going into every game we look to play well individually and collectively, |
He was first spotted at our elite camp over the summer. He caught our eye ... he's come in and done a first-class job. |
He's just a huge big bird in there with big wingspan. He's hard to beat, and he's brave. He's done phenomenally well. |
I honestly thought the second half we opened terribly. We were shocking for the first 15 minutes. I don't know what happened. We usually come out in the second half and really take it to them, but we lost it a little bit there. |
I think at the moment he's just been establishing himself as the goalkeeper, now he has got to become a leader, ... I think its really important that a goalkeeper does become a leader in the backfield and I think it's something he's starting to realize and something he's really starting to work on. |
