[Arrington's zeal to return to the field has been contagious. Seeing him in the starting lineup gave the entire unit a lift, players said.] He helped our team morale just to have him out there with the kind of enthusiasm he has, ... Sometimes people look at players and say, 'Oh, he's big-headed,' and this and that. But he just wanted to play and it really showed and he enjoyed himself and had a great time and it rubbed off on us. |
A lot of people say I play with a chip on my shoulder, ... I don't have a chip. I'm in the NFL; there's no chip. I'm just excited to be playing, and excited to get the chance I've been given here. And I want to keep making the guys who gave me a chance look good, and the people who didn't look bad. I do relish that, but I've been proving people wrong for a long time. |
Before I got here, I just knew I was going to fall in love with this place. But I kept thinking of that old college adage _ Don't sign when you're still on campus. But then I starting thinking that the Lord put me here to sign. So why fight it. |
Being gay is beautiful, and this visibility week is to let people know it's fine and there are others alike. |
Being physical, that's going to be the key for us. They are going to take those 2-yard and 5-yard passes ... But when a guy catches a 2-yard pass and they hit them in the mouth, they don't like that. |
Coach [Gregg] Williams always tells us. 'I can tell if you all are ready if you tackle. But we didn't tackle well.' |
Coach Williams was on us all day. It felt like a practice after we lose a game. He won't let you get too high. But when he needs to be positive about things, he is. |
Doesn't even factor into our thought process, |
Every time Sunday comes around, I think everybody gets a little excited, a little more energized and [has] just a little bit more to look forward to. We're starting the season, and hopefully it will finish off with something big. |

He played very well. You can't deny his talent at all. He was getting used to playing in [assistant head coach-defense] Gregg Williams' system. |
He told me [Monday he was staying]. The one thing you learn about him is he's honest and he's loyal. He believes in what we're building around here. |
His words were, ... 'They don't think that you can tackle in this league, [or] that you're big enough to play safety.' |
I look at him like, hmmm, I just tackled him. |
I really don't know, ... nor can I really worry about it. One thing we know from last year is there's no telling who's going to play. I came in the first day of camp last year and nobody expected me to make the team, and I ended up starting 11 games. No matter who we put out there, he's going to be ready to play. |
