We're not drafting for next year's team. We're drafting for a talent base. An immediate need primarily is not as important as getting a player with the best potential available.

You definitely have to play real games and, through trial and error, get a feel for the game.

You have to perform a balancing act. You don't want to forsake talented upside players for the future who may not be ready to deliver today. If you don't have those guys in the pipeline, your well may run dry.
