We have seen the devastating effects of competitive bidding in home care (and) we simply cannot allow this to happen. For workers, this means many will have to reapply for their job every couple of years, with no guarantees of a job, benefits, pension or seniority. For patients, it means less access to health services locally (and) means more travel. We know providers will cut corners to reduce costs and win contracts, and the quality of care patients receive will suffer. |
