Litter, and it will hurt. It hurts the community, and the fines will hurt when you get caught. Half of the litter is accidental, from things blown off trucks and such, but the other half doesn't reflect positively on the community. |
The river sweeps have increased awareness of what happens when you throw something down on the ground. Eventually everything ends up in the storm drains and then into the Hudson. We've seen a lot less of that since all of these clean-up efforts have been made. |
Volunteering unleashes unbelievably good feelings. It's a lot of fun too. You meet a lot of great people, and you can't believe the karma. |
