Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. |
Nay! When it comes up to the throat, / And it is said: Who will be a magician? / And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting / And affliction is combined with affliction; / To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. |
Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces, / And your Lord comes and (also) the angels in ranks, / And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him? / He shall say: O! would that I had sent before for (this) my life! / But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement, / And no one shall bind with (anything like) His binding. |
Nay! you prefer the life of this world, / While the hereafter is better and more lasting. |
Nay! you shall soon know, / Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. |
Nay! you wonder while they mock, / And when they are reminded, they mind not, / And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, / And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: / What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, / Or our fathers of yore? / Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. |
Nearer to you (is destruction) and nearer, / Again (consider how) nearer to you and nearer. |
Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. |
Neither your creation nor your raising is anything but as a single soul; surely Allah is Hearing, Seeing. |
No doubt that in the hereafter they will be the losers. |
No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). |
Nor can you be a guide to the blind out of their error; you cannot make to bear (any one) except those who believe in Our communications, so they submit. |
Not alike are the inmates of the fire and the dwellers of the garden: the dwellers of the garden are they that are the achievers. |
Nothing is (incumbent) on the Apostle but to deliver (the message), and Allah knows what you do openly and what you hide. |
Now surely Allah's is what is in the heavens and the earth; now surely Allah's promise is true, but most of them do not know. |
